VK3D es lo que permite a Proton traducir Direct3D 12 a Vulkan.
Recientemente han publicado la versión 3.0 con una serie de cambios muy importantes que tienen como resultado tanto la mejora de rendimiento como la compatibilidad.
Dentro de los cambios vamos a destacar la reescritura del backend de DXBC que afecta a los shaders. Gracias a esto se arreglan un montón de juegos como por ejemplo el render D3D12 de Red Dead Redemption 2.

Dank der Kompatibilitätsschicht Wine lassen sich Windows-Programme unter Linux starten. In der neuesten Version darf man die Thread-Prioritäten vorgeben. Darüber hinaus macht die Bluetooth-Unterstützung Fortschritte und das enthaltene Vkd3d 1.15 legt beim HLSL-Compiler nach. Fast gleichzeitig sind Wine und Vkd3d in neuen Versionen erschienen. Letztgenanntes Tool übersetzt Direct3D-Befehle in ihre Pendants für die Vulkan-Schnittstelle. Der HLSL-Compiler in Vkd3d 1.15 verbessert jetzt drastisch den Support für Tessellation Shader und die Overload-Resolution-Funktion. Von diesen Neuerungen profitiert auch Wine 10.2, das Vkd3d 1.15 einspannt. Die Wine-Entwickler haben zudem einige Fehler behoben, die vor allem Spiele betreffen – darunter Guild Wars, Myst, Final Fantasy XI Online und Cyberpunk 2077. Aber auch der Texteditor WordPad soll nicht mehr mit einem leeren Bildschirm starten. Der neue dynamische WoW64-Modus lässt sich dann anknipsen, wenn man ihn benötigt. Das Wine-Team hat zudem weiter am Bluetooth-Treiber gebastelt und das Setzen der Thread-Prioritäten ermöglicht.
