I'm realizing my job is understimulating, which to a lot of folks sounds like a potentially great time to folks that want minimal stress at work, but as #ActuallyADHD it is freaking HELL - I become paralyzed and unable to do work or focus, it is like I am mentally stuck in a bog I cannot fight my way out of and it literally feels uncomfortable/painful in a non-physical way

Appreciative of the ability to pound music into my skull now because it's weirdly "unlocking" my ability to task initiate. It's a solution to an #understimulation issue I've had for a long time and never knew. I was always weirded out by coworkers that would have a Twitch stream or something up because of the appearance of non-productivity but now it's clicking, they may have this issue too. (There's a lot of ADHDers/neurodivergent folks here.)

If you're #AuDHD do not forget your ADHD needs! It's easy to remove all stimulus in trying to fulfill Autistic needs but doing so can inadvertently mess you up.

Can we talk about the absolute horror of understimulation, the way it can feel literally painfully to feel so empty and devoid of having interest in anything? The way you can't just "do something fun" or something you're usually interested in because it's like your brain is literally a dead zone and nothing, not even your special interest, sparks even a millisecond of joy or dopamine in your brain? I want to throw up this is the worst feeling in the world. #understimulation #AuDHD #ActuallyAutistic
