Barn owl again on my morning walk, in the same place, today… and this time I had my pocket bins on me :-)

Flap-flying about a lot, rather than gently gliding as I’ve normally seen before, though definitely still hunting.

Ideas for possible reasons -
warm still day makes gliding harder/impractical?
young/inexperienced bird?
lots of car noise interferes with the listening done when gliding, while flapping lets it cover more ground while predominantly eyeballing for prey?
flapping is more fun?

The young barn owls have fledged, so now every night features these gangling white fools hanging out on the roofs of the buildings and clumsily flapping very short distances across the central yard.

But! They still make hungry baby owl hisses rather than full adult screeches!
