Barn owl again on my morning walk, in the same place, today⦠and this time I had my pocket bins on me :-)
Flap-flying about a lot, rather than gently gliding as Iβve normally seen before, though definitely still hunting.
Ideas for possible reasons -
warm still day makes gliding harder/impractical?
young/inexperienced bird?
lots of car noise interferes with the listening done when gliding, while flapping lets it cover more ground while predominantly eyeballing for prey?
flapping is more fun?
