Beware the hyperbole machine! Big Tech is now proposing building data centers in orbit. Musk and Bezos are leading the charge - but they are NOT the only players.

Proponents of orbital data centers suggest they gain advantages by tapping limitless solar energy, deal with the challenges related to heat/cooling, while avoiding the environmental and public-health consequences of building them on earth.

Critics contend that the expense and technological complexity of putting data centers in the unforgiving environment of space makes the idea impractical.
