#The Best theory, or, the be better theory

I did not know how to tag this toot, so I went with what came up first. I was meditating almost day in and day out on the theory which states, in almost all the sectors you can think of, become better, become the best, or, any variation of this theory you may happen to encounter, you will encounter it eventually, on a daily basis, or not quite, it depends perhaps on your milieu as well, on those you associate with, and, I am saddened to say that, most of my acquaintances and near relations in the * non-online world * do hold to this theory. In my view, it is a sign of hidden envy, and resentment, you strive to battle yourself, to divide yourself, to tell yourself those things, only because you are envious on your past self, and the achievements it never could reach. What a disheartening narrative.

I wrote once, in a now lost poem this verse
"No one in this world could ever be the first."

I meant it.

Here is my question, for those who have read about it, is there a specific book touching upon this theory, with a refutation which can be found in its pages?
