40 years ago, the July 1985 issue of Keyboard magazine changed my life. I was just finishing my Junior year at #StuyvesantHS, and I'd never heard of Kate Bush, before. This interview was taken in the run-up to the release of "Hounds of Love/The Ninth Wave", and after reading it, right after school, I rushed down to Tower Records at 4th and Broadway and bought her 1982 album, "The Dreaming". It blew me right off the surface of this planet.
Your kids, like I did, can still go to #StuyvesantHS, though the commute is about 90 minutes each way (and of course even worse to #BronxScience), but NYC has even more options for specialized high schools than it did in my day. And Flushing is like a second Chinatown, now, which I would have *loved* when I was a teenager. Flushing is *totally* different, now.
If I were still a student at #StuyvesantHS, I could probably work it out just using math, but since I haven't needed to use those particular math/Physics skills in nearly 40 years, Iโ€™ve forgotten the formulae.

The only kinds of tofu that I actually like are Tofutti and agedofu.

I used to get chocolate Tofutti for lunch in high school. There was a place a few blocks up on 1 Av that sold it. Might have been the old Ess-a-Bagel shop, but this is 40 years ago, so I don't quite remember. #StuyvesantHS #NYC

My #urbanism difficulty with the concept of the #15minCity is that while I am happy to ride transit for maybe an hour for the occasional special event, in no way am I interested in walking more than 5 min from my door for daily tasks.

I could tolerate a 5 min walk to the subway station, a 20 min ride, and a 5 min walk from station to office at the end. Certainly, that would be far shorter than my commute during my high school years from #CollegePoint #Queens to #StuyvesantHS in #Manhattan #NYC
