Today's issue of The Gods and Their Croziers concerns Brychan - the first #Welsh saint so far.

Brychan is clearly a sort of "allfather" deity, but that doesn't situate him at the level of Óðinn or An Dagda; instead, he shows every sign of being the Creator-Deity.

Today's issue goes over the evidence for this: that Brychan is father to a medly of god-named "Saints", and one myth in particular that aligns him with Tadhg, grandfather of Fionn.

Has anyone seen LingoPie? You can learn languages by watching tv with subtitles and hovering over the subtitles shows the translation.

Obviously this costs money because capitalism but there is a massive opportunity out there for people encouraging use of languages outside their population centre.

S4C, for example, has both Welsh and English subtitles for everything so with a bit of will and clever coding we could have the Welsh version of this for free :)

Got tomorrow's issue of TGaTC scheduled at last - it'll be my first issue on a #Welsh saint, Brychan. Looking forward to talking about it tomorrow. :)

The review, delivered with Welsh Government, Local Authorities and CJCs, will assess accessibility, customer information and the condition of stops. Externiture Ltd is conducting the survey, which will provide data to guide future improvements. The project supports TfW’s One Network, One Timetable, One Ticket vision and the #Welsh Government’s Travel for All ambitions, with results expected by winter 2026.
