Yes, it’s a #StupidPhone trick, but I’m still impressed that this photo taken with my DSLR back in 2002 when displayed in the photo widget gets presented as a faux-3D image with at *least* 4 convincing layers of depth.

The only reason #Smartphones got big is because it actually provided an improvement compared to a "#StupidPhone" already solving the communication problem whilst becoming a more accessible version of #computing for many people in "The #GlobalSouth" for whom #Desktops and #Laptops never were close to 'affordable' even when built with dumpster-dived / landfill-scavanged parts.
And if we correlate #GDP per capita, average income, average downtime for electricity grid, average fixed broadband speed and number of #blackouts for #power, we'll definitely see that it'll be more likely for Smartphones to dominate even harder than they already do in the "The Global North" where some households can afford more PCs than the occupants have limbs-

I'd consider wasting €20 on a #StupidPhone, €20 on a rewriteable #eSIMcard and €10-20 on an #eSIM a "necessary expense" and I'd gladly show people how to get that stuff and not burn their opsec/anonymity by doing so...
If you're talking NSA level hacking, sure, they can pop anything. But that's oftentimes burning million dollar vulns and potentially creating an international crisis or lawsuits or whatever. If that's your threat model, nothing is going to be secure enough except for truly random one time pads or something, and you need something FAR more advanced to advise your opsec than this. You're basically talking about an entirely different universe of security requirements. I'm talking about local PD just plugging everyone's phones into a standard license Celebrite box and dumping whatever they can. Which is going to be far far less if the phone is in BFU. Same with #eSIM: I can put that on a #SIM #Card *but I can't swap the soldered-down #Chip!
And yes, I routinely use #eSIMcards because I get the #freedom and #flexibility of choice, because it's noone's business which #device I use Which #plans on!
Plus many plans I want to use and/or help people to setup are #SIMonly and not available as #eSIM (i.e. #netzclub)...

I am begging software projects to release programs as tarballs or plain old static binaries. I don't know what a Helm chart is. I am not installing an entire Kubernetes cluster. Docker breaks LXC and firewalls and is constantly breaking for mysterious reasons. I would rather submit myself to hours of `./configure && make && make install` frustration than try to hack through the endless hellscape of containerized deployment systems.
