Archaeological excavation site of Roman-era shipwrecks found in ancient port of Neapolis, located beneath modern Piazza Municipio in Naples, Italy 🇮🇹

Three wooden ships were uncovered during the construction of an underground metro line. The ships were preserved in marine sand and silt below the water table, with one of the larger vessels measuring 13.5m long.

Archaeologists found ships with their entire cargo intact, offering insight into trade routes with the East.
