The Education Dept. was established by Congress in 1979 to "ensure that education issues receive proper treatment at the Federal levelโ & "enable the Federal Government to coordinate its education activities more effectively.โ
Now Congress seems like it couldn't care less as #Trump overrides it, dismantling the Education Dept. bit-by-bit & pushing its responsibilities to other gov departments.
