"Elon Musk's War Against Science, Evidence and Objective Truth"
Byline Times are saying that half of all scientists have left Xwitter. The article is from late January so I'm wondering just how true it really is and whether a lot of these scientists are now on Mastodon. Does this apply to other academics?
Also, why have @bylinetimes stopped posting here? They absolutely should be active on the Fediverse.
Another possible explanation:
MAYBE more smart science people are here on Mastodon than there, having fled ad-driven billionaire-owned platforms in order to have more consistency and respectability than they would have under Elon, Zuck, or any other billionaire.

#Welcome! Some folks jump into a pool head-first, but others need to wade in slowly. That's okay. You're not alone. I took some time at first, too.
Overall, it's very positive and friendly here.
Note that there is NO algorithm, so your feed is determined by what you RT and what accounts and hashtags you follow (yes, you can follow hashtags here). And your posts get better traction when you use hashtags.

There's a lot of amazing & beautiful #photography here, with all kinds of subjects.
Accounts that host groups tend to have guppy avatars and "gup.pe" in their handle.
