1) The history of chintz and AI Slop https://www.bloodinthemachine.com/p/the-original-slop-how-capitalism
2) Oatmeal and bananas for breakfast
3) feeling fairly organized
Today:
- I put on my wet weather gear and had an invigorating walk in the wind and rain
- I went to the annual Good Friday family gathering at my sister’s place for homemade hot cross buns
- my niece’s husband gave me 2 heads of garlic from his garden for me to plant and keep the line going while they are overseas. I bought the original bulbs about 20 years ago and shared some with him a few years back!
#3GoodThings on Apr 18 will be all about books!
1. Beta feedback for #JulesNVera came late last night, and not only are the issues fixed, but my beta loves it! Read it in a couple of days! So - yay, yay, yay!
2. After getting rid of my KU subscription and searching for new books, I found a series by @Firlefanz on Smashwords, which I not only devour but also makes me smile again!
3. The covers for both the English and German versions of #JulesNVera are done!
I have to brag about the group of young professionals I met this week. They are a church group, they have weekly activity planning, they support each other, And I guess they invite randos like me to join in the shenanigans.
(I get along better with guys. It's because I am trans, whether they know it or not.)
Tonight I attended a dinner full of couples between ages 23-32, and fit in. Wholesome experience. Riffing like a mad dog. All positives.

3 good things:
1) a couple years ago i bought a stovetop water distiller. it's stainless steel and can also be used as a double boiler, stock pot and to render fat in.
it's *fantastic*! i use it on my single eye induction burner and i can get a gallon of water every 3-4 hours as well as humidify my house.
2) my perennials survived the winter! this is my third year experimenting with perennials in bins with lids over winter and they're doing amazing now that they're out of the garage and on my porch.
3) got some more degoogling done today. i'm deleting (backed up) photos from the cloud and it's been a fun trip down memory lane.
man, i save so many memes, lol.

All food-related today.
- delicious homemade Hot Cross Buns
- gathered the last of this year's beetroot and had it for dinner
- the guavas are ripening, and starting today I'll pick some each day and accumulate in the freezer till there are enough to make jelly
Three good things for today: 4/17/2025
1. Chilling on the patio after my walk.
2. The lilacs are blooming.
3. Nick Zentner's Geology 351 livestream.
Today's exercise: A 2.57 mile/46 minute walk.
1. Husband had an uncommonly good day dealing with his ongoing medical issues, and we had a lovely date night together at our favorite restaurant to cap it off.
2. New lowest weight again today.
3. Replaced my old wallet with one that has zippers and still manages to take up less space (I prefer minimalist carry). Feeling good about that upgrade.
