Racism & sexism is causing issues at large for my reenacting company to the point it might implode. And if it does because people can't take a principled stand to support women or minorities, I am okay with it.
It would mean I might no longer be an 18th century reenactor anymore, which considering I haven't been on the field for 5+ years, isn't as hard to stomach.
Today is Patriots Day! And 249 years ago Paul Revere rode through Middlesex County to warn the residents that the British Regulars were on the march. Of course, he was not alone. I love a good city biography (different from a history as it treats the city as its own entity) and this one was super interesting. Learned a bunch, occluding that New England almost broke away from the US in 1814, but were stopped by the surprise victory at the Battle of New Orleans. As good as Montefiore's book on Jerusalem.

There's a walk from city hall, up to the tower, a short program, cider, snacks. The museum will have city history magnets and other tchotchkes.
Tower might be open (typically is), but I don't know that for sure. Fabulous views of the area.
