DevPac!
I remember I have coded something with it when I was young, but to be honest, dusting off my assembly memories is a bit scaring but tempting 😅

I'm not a C coder, but I could try to make some retro-experiments

Hisoft C++ seems a nice IDE for the time!

#Macstodon now runs in the latest bleeding-edge build of the Snow emulator! And if you use Snow's built-in HTTPS stripping, then you don't have to configure WebOne or another proxy, just install Macstodon and start using it 😎

Thanks @twvd for the FPU fixes and all the other hard work you put into Snow! This is the kick-in-the-pants I need to get the next version of Macstodon out the door 🙂

Initially, I was just fooling around, creating code snippets to see how it all may fit together. Quick, dirty hacks you know.

But somehow things got more and more refined and today I was able to test my little two-word #textadventure #game #parser by walking between two rooms.

Written using #gforth but also works with #dxforth on #cpm80

More work on this 8-bit game protag. I've named him Gary Greaser. I'm messing with his walk cycle and idle animations. Pondering the game he's going to fit into. #RetroProgramming #8Bit #Atari

I don't know if anyone caught the update but GameTank is now CrowdSupplying.....

@48kRAM Can I choose my own? Tandy TRS-80 Model 102 which I used to own (but gave away to a friend that used to have one when he was young).

I don't know... I think I could get a job maintaining legacy ColdFusion sites lol 😂

When i was a kid in grade school like grade 5 or 6, i didn’t have a computer but always wanted a c64 or Tandy. Parents didn’t know or see the value in them at the time , so I was determined to learn and know everything about them through the books in the school library. The Usborne series of books were fantastic and then i just read anything that was computer related or tangential, sci fi , mystery books especially for some reason and then I found want that covered it all, Chip Mitchell!

i forgot the name and confused some details over the years trying to look for it but I finally found it and thanks to the @internetarchive was able to read it again! It s a series of books made by Fred D’Ignazio and i realized i had read so many of his books, he wrote columns for Computer and just books about teaching programming to kids. If you got some nostalgia for that stuff and have some time, give it a shot!

😂 Oh wow, someone's dusting off the ol' fossilized Pascal tutorial like it's a sacred text from the Stone Age! Because nothing screams cutting-edge tech in 2025 quite like Motorola 68000 assembly language! 🤔📜
