I have been a pediatric ICU / CCT nurse for over 3 decades now. In California respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) season was from around November to say March in bad seasons.
Now as the article points out AND judging by the number of kids we are transporting with it remains high.
The other difference is that we are now seeing combos. In the past you would get say RSV in isolation and now we are seeing it combined with say Human metapneumovirus or other types. These poor kiddo's are getting hit hard and it seems we are stretching into a year round endemic situation #RSV #virus #respiratory #healthcare
