Heat is killing oil workers. T...
Workers in the oil & gas sector increasingly face dangerous working conditions brought on by extreme heat. The Biden administration issued a rule mandating that, when temps exceed 80F, employers must provide water & rest breaks. The O&G industry is lobbying Trump to reverse the rule. https://www.eenews.net/articles/heat-is-killing-oil-workers-the-industry-is-trying-to-kill-a-rule-for-that/

From AP.com: Wrongful death lawsuit says Big Oil contributed to heat wave and woman's death
A Washington state woman is suing seven oil and gas companies, saying they contributed to an extraordinarily hot day that led to her mother’s fatal hyperthermia in one of the nation’s first wrongful-death claims seeking to hold the fossil fuel industry accountable for its role in the changing climate. The lawsuit filed in state court this week says the companies knew that their products have altered the climate, including contributing to a 2021 heat wave in the Pacific Northwest that killed 65-year-old Juliana Leon, and that they failed to warn the public of such risks.

Supreme Court backs Utah oil railroad expansion, endorsing limited version of key environmental law
The Supreme Court backed a multibillion-dollar oil railroad expansion in Utah on Thursday, endorsing a limited interpretation of a key environmental law.
The Supreme Court has backed a multibillion-dollar oil railroad expansion in Utah in a ruling that scales back a key environmental law and could speed development projects around the country. The ruling Thursday involves the Uinta Basin Railway, a proposed 88-mile expansion that would connect oil and gas producers to the broader rail network and allow them to access larger markets. In their 8-0 decision, the justices endorsed a limited interpretation of a key environmental law. Justice Neil Gorsuch didn't participate in the case. The Supreme Court reversed a lower court decision and restored a critical approval from regulators. But the project could face additional legal and regulatory hurdles.
I was wondering if someone on #Mastodon is also a member of #FollowThis (https://www.follow-this.org/)
I hope that #FollowThis can pressure #BigOil even more with their new membership model. I'd love to see an official account from the team on Mastodon. They haven't posted on X for months. It's time for them to come here.
