Years ago, I bought a Hi-Matic 7s.
Luckily for me, I was able to buy my collection of cameras before the analogue revival happened.
So I was able to buy loads of cameras for around 20 euros each .
It’s always nice to test something out with film ! I always had something to test with in my bag.
I even did some model photography with cameras I was testing using expired film and so on...
You don’t actually need much to use a camera.
You’ve got your film, your subject, the aperture and your shutter speed.

I made my first trip to the #Berlin Zoo in over ten years early in December 2025. Since I had never taken pictures of wild animals before, I figured I would grab my camera and try.

One of the big mountain goats from the zoo can be seen here. The mountain goat seemed to me to be living its best life, not aware of where it was at the center of a city like Berlin.

It's unclear to me whether it was the smartest choice to use my #rangefinder for this personal photography challenge. But when I developed a few rolls of black and white film, I was pleased with the result.

When I introduced the new collection, I mentioned that I used to try my hand at model photography using cameras that were new to me (old cameras). I can’t immediately find a model for this Minolta. However, here is a test shot of a female shop mannequin. It does, in fact, demonstrate the quality of the Rokkor lens...

For anyone actually reading this, my daughter is now 21, so it’s been a while
(and the photo itself was most likely taken with my Minolta SRT 101b / Rokkor 50mm 1,7 )
