Crazy how most major #Minecraft modding-related projects had to be forked recently due to one of their maintainer’s “views”, always on the same topic
In 100% of these cases, the shitty maintainers were described as “dictatorial” way before their shitty takes were made public. This actually says a lot about how big projects like these should be maintained (and how problematic people can be identified early).
Quilt has explicitly moved to a much more decentralized governance system. NeoForge was forced two days ago and has yet to settle on these decision, but wishes to do the same.

This isn't an attack on Modrinth or ModMenu. They're good people and I trust them.
But I think it's a relevant bit of context when talking about the new #quiltmc launch beacon, which stores a timestamp (without association to an IP address), and that's it. It don't even tell the beacon what version of Quilt Loader you're on.
