FStoppers: How to Organize 10,000 Photos Without Losing Your Mind. “Most photographers never set up an organizational structure because nobody told them to, and by the time the mess becomes unmanageable, the prospect of fixing it feels worse than living with it. After setting up #Immich a few months ago, I noticed that a lot of my photos were out of order in the timeline. So I built a small #OpenSource tool:
https://github.com/xam-ps/Media-Date-Fixer

It scans media folders and fixes exif data. I’ve now run it on 30,000+ files, and it already cleaned up a huge part of my own Immich timeline. Maybe it helps others bring their photo library back into order too. Feedback, bug reports, ideas, and pull requests are very welcome.

FStoppers: What Happens to Your Photos When You Die and What to Do About It Now. “Most photographers spend years building an archive worth protecting, but very few have a plan for what happens to it after they die. Copyright, physical media, cloud accounts, and stock licensing don’t sort themselves out automatically, and without a plan, decades of work can vanish or get tied up in legal chaos. […]

Fstoppers: The Anxiety of the Archive: The Heavy Burden of Digital Hoarding. “We don’t talk about this enough. The photography community obsesses over gear, technique, and portfolio curation, but we rarely discuss the psychological weight of maintaining a digital archive that grows larger every single year. We treat storage as essentially free, which it is in dollar terms. But the true cost of […]
