AGI - Presentato oggi a Palazzo Piacentini il francobollo commemorativo dedicato a Papa Francesco, a un anno dalla scomparsa di Sua Santita'.
Sul valore bollato è riprodotta l'immagine del Santo Padre a Piazza San Pietro mentre libera una colomba, simbolo della pace. "Papa Francesco ha dedicato ogni giorno del suo pontificato alla costante ricerca della pace. Nel primo anniversario della sua scomparsa, il ricordo del Sommo Pontefice e del suo impegno per il mondo si intreccia con l'auspicio che si possano aprire spiragli nell'ultimo conflitto in corso, l'ennesimo di una serie di guerre che continuano a lacerare il mondo, anche alle porte della nostra Europa", ha dichiarato il ministro delle Imprese e del Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, che ha presieduto all'evento di svelamento del francobollo.
La cerimonia si è aperta con un ricordo del vaticanista spagnolo Javier Marti'nez-Brocal ed è proseguita con gli interventi di Flavia Scarpellini, consigliera di amministrazione dell'Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato, e della responsabile eventi filatelia di Poste Italiane, Roberta Sarrantonio.L'omaggio a Papa Francesco è il decimo francobollo dedicato a un Pontefice.

A stamp for Pope Francis: tribute to a year since the death of the Pontiff

The Poste Italiane Philatelic Society today presented the commemorative stamp dedicated to Pope Francis, marking one year since his passing.

The stamp features an image of the Holy Father in St. Peter's Square releasing a dove, a symbol of peace. “Pope Francis dedicated every day of his pontificate to the constant search for peace. On the first anniversary of his passing, the memory of the Supreme Pontiff and his commitment to the world intertwines with the hope that cracks may appear in the ongoing conflict, the umpteenth of a series of wars that continue to tear apart the world, even at the gates of our Europe,” stated Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, who presided over the unveiling event.

The ceremony opened with a remembrance by Spanish Vatican correspondent Javier Martínez-Brocal and continued with the interventions of Flavia Scarpellini, Advisor to the Administration of the Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato (Italian Printing and Mint), and Roberta Sarrantonio, Head of Events Philately at Poste Italiane. The homage to Pope Francis is the tenth stamp dedicated to a Pontiff.

The thought that the Virgin of Avila could be esteemed a Doctor never ceased to exist in the Church. Suffice it to mention the opinion of the theologians of Salamanca who, since there was a controversy on the subject, wrote openly in 1657: “Now our blessed Mother Teresa has the halo of a doctor and the Church receives and approves her singular doctrine . . . as coming from heaven”.
