#OTD in 1395: Battle of Rovine: A heavily outnumbered Christain Wallachian army led by Voivod Mircea the Elder defeated an invading Muslim #Ottoman army led by Bayezid I the Thunderbolt.

The night before the battle Mircea asked Bayezid to leave and offered him safe passage. Bayezid refused and insisted on battle, confident his army would win.

Our NoMansLand nomadic manuscripts project has an online lecture this afternoon!
