it’s funny to me how much more often I hear “PGP (Pretty Good Privacy)” on my husband’s Dutch-language news and legal podcasts than in the stuff I read about infosec and data privacy

there was a criminal gang here that used PGP on their phones (didn’t save them in the end) and the Dutch media REALLY latched onto it as a term for “encryption that’s good enough that you can’t simply Law your way through it”
