Hundreds rally outside N.S. legislature for third time in a week to demand ‘new budget now’

Rally was organized by NS Arts Coalition and Theatre Nova Scotia and attended by Mi’kmaq land defenders, artists, people with disabilities, members of environmental stewardship and student groups, and others.

Halifax Examiner

If you're in #HalifaxNS today there's a rally at noon for a New Budget Now at province house (1726 Hollis st), but people can gather earlier at 11am at the WFNS offices at 1113 Marginal Road to march to the protest at 11:30.

This is the last planned protest before the government is to cut millions from crucial arts, culture, and heritage funding that will devastate our province for a generation to come.

And that deceit is why I’m angry at Tim Houston.

Let’s talk about the morality of the negative economic impact of Tim Houston’s attack on Nova Scotia

There is a negative economic impact of cutting all the arts and social programs. It is real, and it is enormous, but Houston doesn't value it enough to even measure the loss of them.

Protests tomorrow across #NovaScotia to stand up against the government's cuts to culture, heritage, and arts programs.

There are also separate but equally important protests by the First Nations here against cuts to many L'nu programs that also need settlers to join in support for them.

Tim Houston being booed by *everyone* at the African Nova Scotian Heritage Gala. Houston tries to remain relevant, but just sounds pathetic.

He needs to experience more hubris everywhere, as his time in control of Nova Scotia crashes and burns.
