These projects have all been made possible due to an innovative billion-dollar climate fund. The Portland Clean Energy Fund is a first-of-its-kind racial, social and climate justice fund aimed at helping the city's most vulnerable residents adapt to climate change while also reducing carbon emissions.

Since the fund began, it has garnered about $1 billion and is projected to reach $1.6 billion by mid-2029.

"It's a fund that's intended to scale up local, community-based climate solutions that address our very real climate realities, community resilience and economic resiliency."

We’ve watched the #LNP shoot itself in the foot, twice in both feet and redoubling its effort to dig its own grave. Now we’re being presented with a #Labor party apparently intent on following suite. #Unions and #LaborHeartland must be seething in frustration approaching outright anger by now.

I’ve been there and I’m not looking back. For me #Labor has lost its way, completely, maybe beyond salvage. The following is just furhter proof of it.

“There’s a tell when a politician has been captured by an industry lobby. The language shifts. The carefully prepared lines about “existing contracts,” “investment certainty,” and “there’s already a tax, actually” start flowing out with the smoothness of a media brief, because that’s exactly what they are. The Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on all evidence appears to have been captured. So has Resources Minister Madeleine King.”

Blink twice if you need help, Prime Minister

There's a tell when a politician has been captured by an industry lobby. The language shifts. Well, the Albanese Government is repeating Big Gas talking points word for word. Except Australians aren't buying it.

The Point

Good gracious, #AmyRemiekis really knows our #AlboPM. In this article she presents her assessement of the #Labor leader and for my money, I think she nailed it:

“Albanese’s stumbles – from calling Grace Tame difficult and David Pocock a populist, to pushing back against a royal commission following Bondi (for much the same reasons as here), to dragging his feet on gambling reform and doing only the bare minimum when absolutely pushed, to feeling miffed securing fuel supplies and announcing a domestic gas reservation haven’t quelled demands for a gas export tax, to not pushing back hard enough against the misinformation and disinformation surrounding the Indigenous Voice – all of it comes back to the root cause that he gets uncomfortable, and defensive, when he’s asked for a bigger, and braver agenda.”

“There is a running theme among Anthony Albanese’s missteps. His latest […] to dismiss calls for a royal commission into femicide and violence against women follows the pattern – the Prime Minister gets frustrated when the public’s agenda is broader than his own.”

PM’s softly-softly just won’t cut it any more – this latest slip is proof of that

There is a running theme among Anthony Albanese’s missteps. His latest, appearing in an interview on Hobart radio to dismiss calls for a royal commission into femicide and violence against women follows the pattern – the Prime Minister gets frustrated when the public’s agenda is broader than his own.

Tuvalu is building new land to hold back rising sea levels, but the majority of its people are applying to relocate to Australia. As they do, many are confronting a disturbing question.

#Canada's Banker CEO-PM is captured by the #fossilfuel lobby. His disdain for #climateAction, energy innovation, #renewableenergy and strong, cohesive communities shows that he is yesterday's man in so many ways.

Analysis by one of us shows that the largest 250 #oil & #gas #companies only own 1.42% of #global #renewable #energy, & just 0.01% of the energy they extract comes from renewable sources."
We reviewed 48 ‘low carbon’ projects and found they were becoming part of the fossil fuel problem

These projects amplify the green credentials of fossil fuel firms while leaving their core business model untouched.
