Sax Happened #20

I decided to try the reed I was having issues with again to test if they do soften up / break in. Sure enough it was easier to play today. I still had some problem notes, though they were different and less severe. Managed to almost play all of Terra’s Theme without messing up. I even tried growling haha. The results weren’t great but it did help open up my throat a bit. I found I played better after that to the point maybe I’ll do that as part of my warm up.

Related aside, I finally powered up my modular rig and John and I have been curious what sax sounds like through Monsoon (Mutable Instruments Clouds). It’s uhh, world endingly heavy, especially given the original source was a scratch track I made for one of our (much more upbeat) synthwave songs. But it’s epic that’s for sure!
