So it turns out #Arizona looks like a portrait-oriented rectangle with a little bite taken out of its left corner where the surveyors got tired and gave up without giving us a beach. I'm enjoying the state outlines in the Tactile Graphics Library. #Monarch #TGIL

Surprise #Arizona is a small town in what used to be Trump country, and they have certainly been serving up surprises for the mutiny of preverts as the latter try to build an #ICE "warehouse" concentration camp there. For a variety of reasons, Surprise and other rural communities are strongly resisting these sites.

It's monsoon here in Tucson, and it's so beautiful! My grad student and I were meeting this afternoon when we realized the light outside the glass brick "window" in my office was getting darker and we were starting to hear raindrops on the roof. We cut our meeting off immediately and each ran/biked fast for home. It was an exciting but still safe bike ride. Yay monsoon! I'm so happy it started nice and early this year! #Tucson #Arizona #rain
