This hashtag will be for mentioning instances that disappeared, are having problems, were raided by the police #kolektivaSocial , etc.
I'm doing this, because I keep running into moments where a Mastodon #instance has disappeared ( #FederatedNews ) when trying to follow an account. Today I even had a user of another instance ( #MstdnParty ) talk to me, because of an old post I made asking about some kind of a "health" metric.
It looks like the Mastodon #instance federated.news is down and now sends me to some cryptocurrency ticker. I found out, because I tried to follow an account I follow on Twitter which was registered there.
Is there any kind of instance reliability metric or confidence score? Normies will just want to be told "register here" and experiences like this undoubtedly will keep them off Mastodon.
