This is an OpenAPI client for Node.js generated from the official Hetzner Cloud OpenAPI specification using Massimo.
Recently, while reviewing the code for Catalyst¹, I realised that the Hetzner library I was using was deprecated. The only other client library listed on Awesome Hetzner Cloud for JavaScript was updated seven years ago². So I did a bit of research and discovered that Hetzner has an official OpenAPI specification (useful little things that you can generate documentation as well as working client code from). I also discovered Massimo³, a lightweight and easy to use OpenAPI client generator.
So, anyway, a few minutes later, I had a working Node.js client generated but I thought I’d take a little more time to make it into a module in case anyone else wanted to use it.
In the process, I also created a simple web app example with Kitten⁴ where you can enter your Hetzner API key in a web interface, have it persisted to the default Kitten database⁴ and then carry out a simple call to list your servers. It’s 99 lines of code, including comments, in a single file. (Because Kitten loves you.)
The example uses the new/advanced class and event-based way of working with Kitten so you might find it interesting for that reason too (I haven’t had the chance to document this workflow properly yet). It also showcases Kitten’s Streaming HTML⁵ workflow, as well as its built-in support for semantic default styles and its first-class Markdown support.

The cool thing is that because the client is generated from the official Hetzner OpenAPI specification, it’s one command to update it should the specification change and you can be sure it matches exactly what’s in the API documentation.

W zeszłym tygodniu, kiedy Apple wraz z iOS 18.6.1 i watchOS 11.6.1 ogłosiło wprowadzenie „przeprojektowanej funkcji pomiaru tlenu we krwi” w Apple Watch, wielu przewidywało, że firma Masimo (która wcześniej pozwała Apple w związku z tą technologią) zareaguje. Jak donosi 9to5mac firma faktycznie podjęła kroki prawne — tym razem przeciwko służbom amerykańskim, a konkretnie U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
Wprowadzenie
Masimo pozwało Apple na przestrzeni lat, a sprawa osiągnęła kulminację wraz z nałożeniem zakazu importu w grudniu 2023 roku, który uniemożliwił sprzedaż modeli Apple Watch z funkcją pomiaru tlenu we krwi w USA.
Apple wstrzymało sprzedaż na kilka dni, a następnie wprowadziło modele serii Series 9 i Ultra 2 bez tej funkcji, wyłączając ją jedynie poprzez oprogramowanie – sprzęt pozostał ten sam.
Nowy proces — kogo pozwała Masimo?
Masimo złożyło nowy pozew w Sądzie Dystryktowym dla Dystryktu Kolumbii, tym razem przeciwko U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Firma twierdzi, że CBP przekroczył swoje uprawnienia, uchylając wcześniejsze postanowienie z stycznia, które zakazywało importu.
Według Masimo, agencja CBP podjęła tę decyzję 1 sierpnia 2025 r., w tzw. postępowaniu ex parte, czyli jednostronnie — bez powiadamiania Masimo i bez dania jej szansy na reakcję.
Firma dowiedziała się o tej zmianie dopiero 14 sierpnia 2025 r., gdy Apple publicznie ogłosiło powrót funkcji.
Żądania Masimo
Masimo wnioskuje o tymczasowy zakaz sądowy (temporary restraining order) i wstępne wstrzymanie (preliminary injunction) decyzji CBP — dąży do odtworzenia oryginalnego, styczniowego zakazu importu.
W uzasadnieniu podkreślono, że każdy dzień funkcjonowania „nielegalnego orzeczenia” szkodzi interesom Masimo, w tym jej konkurencyjnej pozycji na rynku w USA.
Kontekst — co zrobiło Apple?
Apple 14 sierpnia 2025 r. ogłosiło, że przywraca funkcję pomiaru tlenu we krwi w modelach Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10 i Ultra 2 poprzez aktualizację oprogramowania, która przesuwa przetwarzanie danych z zegarka na sparowanego iPhone’a. CBP zatwierdziło tę metodę jako zgodną ze swoją nową interpretacją regulacji importowych.
