Three birding friends (Dave, Dave and Andy) and I went to see an unusual visitor yesterday (15th) but only had fleeting glimpses of the Marsh Warbler as it skulked in reeds and vegetation. I went back early this morning and was I rewarded for the effort of missing out on sleep!!! Guten Morgen!

Gestern habe ich diesen hübschen kleinen #Sumpfrohrsänger beobachten können. Eigentlich war ich auf der Suche nach Orchideen, habe aber natürlich gern eine Pause gemacht um das kleine Kerlchen zu beobachten. Es war das erste mal, dass er sich mir so nah gezeigt hat! Da war die Freude natürlich groß!

Another first! I'm pretty sure it's a marsh warbler (Acrocephalus palustris) but I'm happy to be corrected. Singing from a tree-top and not in the reeds, hence my best guess.
