I'm not particularly fond of mantises, and I've only ever seen them from afar, I don't have much knowledge about them, but this was probably a female hierodula patellifera, and it was on top of something like a car stop pole on the sidewalk. it's just my imagination, but she looked in trouble, and I wondered why...you can fly to get anywhere with your wings...? but then I learned that female mantises don't fly very well... maybe I should have helped her, she might be on a roadside tree and fall here #nature #mantis
