Author here does not address one of the main critiques of charters: if it's easier for charter #schools to expel or suspend students, then they can kick out the students who are doing worst (regardless of whether disciplinary issues are real), and use the leftover students to truthfully make the claim that their average students have high test scores etc., even though their performance doesn't have much to do with how well they're taught.

The #MoCo #Republicans have an initiative in the works that is basically guaranteed to fail because it would just blatantly give them power. It's also maybe illegal.

These hearings are interesting because you see pro and con coalitions form for specific bills. This particular bill is a high profile one because the Attainable Housing Strategies recommendations failed in #MoCo not too long ago.

#Maryland is 40% republican... the danger of a 6-2 (25% republican) map getting drawn after the 8-0 map gets struck down is real. The reason April Delaney can win the U.S. House race is because the district that covers western maryland, the pan handle, dips all the way down into #MoCo . They're republicans up there!

I would support 8-0 map if I thought democrats could get away with it, but it's not getting through a court system filled with appointees from 8 years of #LarryHogan
