I went to two bike shops today, seeking fenders for my 35-year old Schwinn. The first place was empty of customers but the clerk was clearly not interested in helping, didn't want to look at my frame, couldn't order the parts, and couldn't suggest another shop that would. The next shop on my list was a little farther away. I had immediate help from the front desk, but he couldn't be sure what fenders would actually fit my bike, so he sent me to "Service." I had to wait, but the guy was super helpful. He measured various places, checked clearances, and investigated my frame in some detail for the attachment points. He recommended a set of fenders and ordered them for later this week. He told me that I'd have to remove the rear wheel and kickstand to reach the bottom attachment point. He's going to text me when the parts arrive.
So, great job, #Trek on Fishers Lane in Rockville, and a big thumbs down to "Good Vibes" on East Gude in Rockville.
