Here's a video of the Stanley Park protected bike lane on a windy day in early May 2022. The most scenic bike lane we ever saw. Hopefully the City of Vancouver and Park Board can bring it back. #bikeyvr #StanleyPark #biketooter #LoveTheLane #bikelanes #protectedbikelanes #bicycling #cycling #biking

A monument to ABC Vancouver's stupidity.

The needless destruction of the Park Drive bike lane was so knee jerk, the Park's Department doesn't even have a place to store the wreckage.

I'm still a bit dumbfounded by the decision this week by the #Vancouver Park Board to remove the #bike lane on #StanleyPark Drive.

The Seawall lane remains, but it is over capacity, narrow, and a gong-show.

In response, Vancouver Critical Mass will be organizing monthly protests rides.

I assume that #LoveTheLane will also organize some Stanley Park rides. https://lovethelane.ca/

BREAKING: Vancouver Park Board votes to sweep away cyclist protections on Stanley Park Drive. As major cities around the world invest to expand safe cycling routes, the Park Board will now spend $330,000 of public money to rip one out. Stanley Park update: the separated bike lane is still in place on Stanley Park Drive except for the section between Prospect Point Cafe and the Tea House at Ferguson Point (the downhill section). The sea wall was also open today. So get out there for a bike ride in beautiful Stanley Park! #bikeyvr #cycling #parksforpeople #vancouver #lovethelane
The ABC Vancouver waste of capital to allow vehicles to drive in the righthand lane of Park Drive appears to have uprooted the pylons in this stretch of the #StanleyParkBikeLane #StanleyPark so far. As you can see from this photo, the added drivable road on Park Drive at Tatlow trail has yet to induce vehicular demand.

It's utterly ridiculous that Vancouver will spend between $375,000 and $425,000 to remove a perfectly good bike lane from Park Drive in Stanley Park. The icing on this particularly acrid cake is that this infrastructure regression is being funded by the city's permanent cycling infrastructure accounts.

I do not believe for one minute there will ever be proper cycling infrastructure on Park Drive so long as Vancouver ABC remains viable.

New leadership for the #Vancouver Park Board is spending close to half a million dollars to remove a popular #bike lane through #StanleyPark.
