Another VULC social ride in the can. 20 km through the rolling hills (ahem) of East Van. By far the consensus was that riding along Slocan and E22nd (both designated bike routes!) were their favourite parts of the ride. 😒 #bikeyvr

Shout out to the ID4 driver this morning who passed me, a person riding an ebike at 28 km/h in a 30 km/h zone, about 20m before a stop sign. Predictably, they didn't stop at the stop sign. You, sir, win the Asshat Of The Morning (AOTM) award! Collect your prize from the drive-thru window. #bikeyvr

I’m still gathering my thoughts on vibe coding. To see if there is a difference between $work tools and and competitors I built a small website for a personal niche with Claude code. If anyone is into biking and skiing in around Vancouver https://www.vbss.ca might be helpful.

It’s still rough, I need to spend a bit more time figuring out to get a decent search - I’ve built a 2gb set of vectors using a local embedding model and MLX but it doesn’t fit on a 1gb/1vcpu VPS so I need to experiment with PCA and quantization, plus fix bugs.
