If I ever have a life partner again, one non-negotiable standard that I didn't have on my list over a decade ago is now a pre-requisite. It is being bravely proud of being an active antifascist.
I had always foolishly assumed that anyone who wanted to walk life paths, intimately & alongside me, would already know how important it is to be brave & to care about other people & the natural environment that we need to sustain life on Earth. How important it is not be silent & to join me in fighting against injustices. I was quite wrong to assume that. I've learned to not settle for less than an equally brave humanitarian.

Learning to #Dance Again a workshop focused on re-learning understandings of dance in a way that decenters how we look and focuses on how we feel.

12 people maximum
Pre-registration required
Sliding scale: $10-20

In this #decolonial approach to dance we will take up space to move in ways outside of traditional dance practices and practice the art of intentional connection to ourselves through movement. This workshop is open to folks of all abilities regardless of skill level. If you are able to move ANY part of your body you are welcome to move with us.

Alessia (she/they) is a multi-media #artist based recently based on #lək̓ʷəŋən lands. Their art focuses on storytelling through creation. Creation is an alchemic process in which she takes their pain and turns it into art. Art is alchemy.

I used medical tape to secure ice bags to my legs, belly & back. Securing one to the back of my neck soon. Experiencing severe hot flashes. I look ridiculous but my body is feeling much cooler. No one except my cat/family will see me for rest of today so it doesn't matter if I look completely ridiculous with all of my taped on cold packs.
