What I sowed today:

Okra, romanesco broccoli, dill, rosemary, purple carrots, slim orange carrots & a cool cilantro pea plant - you can eat the peas & foliage tastes like cilantro. It's a new experimental food crop for me. I got the seeds from a local farmer friend.

Went for an hour walk, earlier, carrying a pocket full of mixed borage, California poppy, nodding onion, wooly sunflower, lupine, Oregon stone crop, Indian plum & red osier dogwood seed balls & a backpack filled with half a bag of homemade mixed potting/compost/vermiculite soil. I was planting the seeds balls in road & sidewalk cracks, as I strolled around our 'hood. I shoved some seed balls into cracks between a few rock foundations that I spotted too.

*Edit - I pack a few bottles of tap water in my backpack too. So I can water my seed balls, immediately after planting them.

These are Asian greens that we grow & harvest as needed, year round. They are put under light covers in the colder Winter months. I keep their bases well mulched during Winter & they do just fine.

Super rainy day here. I ended up pulling a 12+ hours work day yesterday & was fully spent by end of the night.
I slept in today. Then, decided to make the most of an indoor day & got some more food plant seeds started, in zipped plastic bags.
