Boyeria irene (fam. Aeshnidae). Macho/male.

[ES] Qué mal, no existe ninguna "Bollería Irene" en España. Alguien debería abrir una.
No me gusta mucho la foto, pero es la primera vez que veo esta especie y solo me dio esta oportunidad. Es una libélula grande, de vuelo rápido y potente. Según odonatos.com, ponen los huevos en cursos de aguas rápidas, donde se desarrollan las ninfas durante varios años, y los imagos los abandonan para buscarse la vida por ahí, incluso en las ciudades. También, según esa web, vuelan de julio a septiembre, por lo que hoy, 27 de mayo, sería prontísimo para verla.

[EN] In Spanish, the word "Boyeria" sounds like "Bollería", which means bakery ("bollo" means bun), and Irene is a women's name. So, "Boyeria irene" sounds like the name of a baker's shop.
I don't like the photo much, but this is the first time I see this species and it only gave me one chance to shoot. This is a big dragonfly with a quick powerfull flight. According to odonatos.com (in Spanish), they lay their eggs in torrents, where the nymphs grow for many years; then, the adults leave those waters and can be seen anywhere, even in cities. In addition, they fly from july to september, so today, the 27th of May, is too son to see them.

Libellula depressa (fam. Libellulidae). Macho/Male.

[ES] ¿Sabéis distinguir las libélulas de los caballitois del diablo? Ambos son odonatos, pero se clasifican en diferentes subórdenes: Anisotpera y Zygoptera, respectivamente. Se diferencian muy bien:
– Ojos: los de las libélulas se tocan, los de los caballitos del diablo están separados.
– Alas: las libélulas mantienen las alas extendidas cuando se posan, y estas no se estrechan en la base; los odonatos las juntan sobre su cuerpo y se estrechan hacia la base (como "raquetas").
– Cuerpos: en general, las libélulas son más grandes y robustas que los caballitos del diablo.
Según lo anterior, está claro que la de la foto es una libélula (y encima se llama Libellula). La hembra de esta especie tiene un color amarillo parduzco, mientras que el macho es gris pulverulento, como el de la foto.

So, the one in the photo is a dragonfly. The female of this species is yellowish brown, while the male is blueish.

Como la #libélula se fotografió por pura casualidad, pues son insectos en constante movimiento, me place compartir la imagen tomada el Jardín Botánico Atlántico de #Gijón. Se parece a una ilustración un macho de Calopteryx haemorrhoidalis ("dama de cobre").
