My inexperience with #linux is making it hard to know how to ask this question, but:

Is there some way to set/override #keybindings at a low enough level that I can bind text navigation (forward-word, backward-word, start-of-line, end-of-line, etc) in any context? I know there are ways to do it in the terminal but I want it in any text entry context in the OS.

Generally for me this means "like a Mac" cause I don't think i will ever fix my fingers.
