In my free time I love taking photos on nature on my iPhone. These photos are difficult to share with non-Apple devices, however, since by default they are saved as HEIC files. Today I wrote a blog post on how to convert these HEIC images to PNG using vanilla MacOS / iOS, no 3rd party programs or online services. Hopefully you find this helpful too!

Bit of a long shot, but does anyone here who is in the Apple ecosystem use Private Relay (to mitigate IP address tracking)? It's available if you subscribe to iCloud+.
I can't get my MacBook Pro connected to Private Relay. When Private Relay is enabled in System Settings, a warning message reports:
Private Relay is either not supported by this network or Limit
IP Address Tracking has been turned off in Wi-Fi Settings.
The Wi-Fi router is an ASUS RT-AC87R running RT-AX55 (3.0.0.4.386_53119-g3ed6ada) software, but I don't think that's where the problem lies.
Looking at System Settings > Network > {Wi-Fi name} > Advanced, the option for Limit IP Address Tracking is unchecked. Check it and β DNS resolution no longer works. And within a few minutes (always less than 10), something unchecks the Limit IP Address Tracking option again.
Thus no Private Relay.
Any guidance?
Apple verrΓ€t den Namen von macOS 27 wohl versehentlich

thats it for today.
#mac micro is running #macos 7.6.1
Internet with iCab.
#raspberrypi 3A+
uses ~140MB of 512MB RAM
moderate cpu utilisation .. 10-15%
(more ore less idling i would say.)
I blame Apple for essentially breaking my app-update flow. I no longer trust simply updating apps, thanks to their stupid Services drive: I now must manually pick through them and avoid the updates that bring nothing of value except paywalls (like Pages). Sorry, I will never install these apps that do nothing except upsell; I paid too much for this hardware to endure such disrespectful behavior.
