Kdenlive is the acronym for KDE Non-Linear Video Editor. It works on Linux, Windows, macOS, and BSD.

There's one more thing: Both Camtasia Studio and DaVinci Resolve cost a significant amount of money.

If you don't have a budget for buying a video editor, #KDEnlive ist by far the best software that I tried (evaluated a few other Linux video editors). It is extremely capable and has a ton of effects / plugins / ...

I used #DaVinciResolve to edit my latest YouTube Video. Before that, I used #kdenlive - and even before that, #camtasia. Some quick thoughts...

I'm not an expert in video editing, just someone who wants to upload videos to YouTube. I really liked camtasia because it is simple yet powerful, and I knew it well enough so that it didn't get in my way anymore. But there is no #linux version, which is a deal breaker for me now.

KDEnlive is a great piece of software, especially for... [1/]

Say what you want about DHH, as a long-time Linux user I support the effort to bring Linux to the masses.

It's funny, a week ago I was repeating the joke "this year will be the year of the Linux desktop!!!", but then I realized wait, the Linux desktop is pretty good now, even for newbies.

Big credit to Steam's #Proton for making games on Linux just work. That was my last real reason to dual-boot to Windows.

My most recent Linux realization is that #Kdenlive, the open source video editor, is really good. Like as good as #DaVinci Resolve for what I use. So that's cool.

I'm working on a demo/tutorial video and I was trying #apple #iMovie. It was really easy until it wasn't. Trying to add a freeze frame when I have several already in place and it just moves my audio clips around for reasons beyond me.

Now I'm trying #kdenlive. While the interface has a lot more going on it seems to be doing only what I tell it to do. Also looks like it has power I won't even scratch the surface of. Well done, #FOSS friends!

#KDENLive is always better, always ROCKS! πŸ‘

I finally found a solution to take a screenshot of hyprlock. I simple did screen record via obs and extracted a single image with Kdenlive.

There is properly a much better solution but it is working

#ArchLinux #Linux #Hyprland #Hyprlock #Kdenlive #Ricing

I need to change the color themes slightly to be matching with my unlocked UI. I did a rewrite for that as well. Instead of using waybar and eww I rewrote everything with quickshell. The last thing I did implement where the notifications.

There are still some panels on my backlog but they are not that important to me.

#Linux #ArchLinux #Hyprland #Ricing #Quickshell

I started to adjust my overall color scheme as well. The whole frontend is coming together slowly.

Not sure if I should use more or less blur ..

@Xanatos That looks dope actually
@omarchy Thank you ❀️

@Xanatos are you using x11 or wayland? Gnome?

and trying to capture "log-in screen"?

if I understand correctly - then - letting video recorder to capture login screen is security issue - it should not happen in Wayland/Gnome - not sure about other DE

and login screen suppose to be processed by "its own environment" - not by same user gnome

only how it should be possible - is using capture card and connecting gpu output there

@danil
I do use wayland, might be an issue on how I call hyprlock.

Because I just used OBS to get that screenshot.
