In working on #H3VR, I once had to calculate the amount of nutritive calories in an average American family. I now find myself doing similar calculations for @dunderbeckgame but now for horses and elephants...
In @dunderbeckgame, items have flavors. And some of those flavors will make you a little sick. Or a lot sick. (As the value increases, the likelihood of the character spewing after eating it also increases...)
If anyone has the stomach, I highly recommend Tasting History with Max Miller's video on the Cockentrice. It's equal parts charming (as are all of his videos) and horrifying (which… is also not uncommon - thanks, history!)
Anyway, happy #Thanksgiving!
So, an important part about @dunderbeckgame is that everything can be crafted with (as well as used as a weapon, as well as eaten...) and tossed cookies are no different - so I have three stages of puke crafting. Presenting, puke (smallest), vomit (middlest), and hurl (largest.)
For two days I am looking at a bug where a transform that's rotated by an angle and then positional offset relative to the resulting transform... is somehow not translating correctly. My brain just shut off looking at the issue.
This morning I get up, look at the code and within 15 seconds I go "Oh hey, this line here is wrong" and the issue is gone.
Never thought my life would become “chatting to gamedev friend in the pub about the latest layoffs this week, since the time we met last week and talked about the previous layoffs”, but here we are.
