I’d firmly describe myself as 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 #indycurious so looking forward to going to this event in Cardiff on Friday to talk currency and economics with the excellent @markjhooper.bsky.social @tegidroberts.bsky.social and @leannewood.bsky.social : scotonomics.org/event/the-ec...

The Economics of Independence ...
The Economics of Independence for Scotland and Wales – Monetary Sovereignty - Scotonomics

An economic event in Wales to discuss the economics of independence focusing on the importance of wales having its own currency.

Scotonomics
During the #IndyRef in #Scotland, an Uncle kept saying Scotland was too small to be an independent country, to which I kept replying then you have to explain why Denmark (+ Norway, Ireland etc) are successful.
This is a partial comparison of the 2.
πŸ‘‡
Having said all of which, as regards Scottish independence (+ I would characterise myself as #IndyCurious not convinced), it's very much on the lines of the old joke, "if you're going there I wouldn't start from here..."

Attached: 1 image πŸ‡©πŸ‡° Denmark is about two thirds the size of Scotland with a slightly larger population of 5.8 million. It comes in the top five of the Scotianomics Wellbeing Index. It is also far wealthier – the GDP per head is about twice that of Scotland. πŸ”Ž So how does independence work for Denmark? πŸ‘‡ Here are five lessons for an independent Scotland. https://www.believeinscotland.org/independence_lessons_for_scotland_from_denmark

Now I’m slowly getting to grips with this place - time for another #introduction!
I’ve been #fundraising for more years than I will admit, love #crafting and especially #knitting, #sewing and #upcycling. I’m a lefty leaning #Welshie with an #IndyCurious streak! Love love love people, and laughing, and swimming keeps me sane. Occasionally to be found in the sea… Make me happy with good #wine, good #food, and beautiful #shoes!
Dislike cruelty, #MeanGirls and disingenuous people.
@NotSusan @StevenWard Aye, amongst the most important voters in the next ref are the #indycurious and the soft No’s. All need to be welcomed with open arms.
@StevenWard it *might be the perfect platform for #indycurious and soft Noes. We should make it so.
Twitter isn't going to change anyone's mind.

An #introduction ....

I'm from #Wales or #Cymru   Interested in #history, #culture and #language, as well as curious about #Annibyniaeth (#IndyCurious).

Politically, I'm on the #left side, and definitely #ProEU and #GTTO. Passionate about #HumanRights and #climatechange.
#LGBTQIA Ally.

I love #cats and #hedgehogs, but of course I only cuddle the 🐈s.

Keeping busy with #DIY, #sewing and #gardening now I'm retired from #NHS.

Thanks for the welcome

@toastymctoast Twitter is a binfire. It'll eat itself. We need to persuade #indycurious and the soft No voters. That can't happen on Twitter.
Reckon we should all drag our #IndyCurious friends and relatives on here...Twitter was never going to change any minds.

#introduction Escaper from the bird site, where mostly tweeting about (especially Welsh) politics and occasionally classical music. Implacable opponent of #Brexit, especially interested in fiscal and transport policy.
