I often think about how great it could be if there were #HighSpeedRail along the #NortheastCorridor.

#Amtrak proposed a project like that once. It would have reduced #congestion and short-haul #flights, and made #Boston to #Washington a 4-hour #trip. But it would have been super #expensive, difficult to coordinate between #states, and not necessarily a better use of #money than expanding #local intercity #railway.
