I’ve been using the helium browser since last night, switched over from Brave, and I’m VERY happy with it.

With vertical tabs, zen mode, and a few small UI tweaks, it feels much more spacious. The split window feature is fantastic!

One of the things I liked in Brave was bookmark sync. I solved that using Floccus with my existing Karakeep instance as backend.

Helium Just Rescued My Browser Experience

Though it’s not trivial to make it feel like Chrome

Has anyone tried using #HeliumBrowser
Helium browser is still in alpha, but man it's fast, excellent privacy (tested via coveryourtracks.eff.org) and just gets out of your way #heliumbrowser helium.computer

Just checking out the Helium Browser.
It matches what you'd expect from a Chrome Browser derivative, feelingwise.

As I understand it, the evolution is:
Chrome→Brave→Helium

Burner Todo progress report:
Some custom styling is added to make it look nicer. I also found a way to compile the Python code into C (using Nuitka) to make it more performant, smaller in size. And the AppImage version is also done, except there are still some desktop integration issues, AppImageLaucher and other tools can't integrate it for some reason. Will figure out what's the issue.
