When you can only get one living former Republican President to come to your shindig, your political party is not remotely close to "unified." It's just a big #Cult45 meeting.

He was a registered Republican, yes, but had ALSO recently been donating to Dem-aligned groups.

Political affiliation is not set in stone. I myself am a #NeverTrump #FormerGOP (jumped ship when they chose Trump at their 2016 Primaries).

Look at the many videos from #TheLincolnProject and #MidasTouch and you will see disenchanted former Trump voters spitting his name. Some of his voters DID pay attention on Jan.6th and the many criminal trials. (It is these voters whose votes the right is trying to suppress with their "none of the above" social media campaign. Better to not have them vote at all than flip to Biden.)

To me, his motivation is obvious-- albeit deluded. He must've thought he could save the GOP before their Primaries by forcing them to find another candidate, but had not learned yet that they have long been beyond saving.

He is the "none of the above" crowd taken to its extreme.

Being someone who's a #FormerGOP, I see things in ways that others probably don't. I fear the Left falling into the same cult-trap that the Right exists in now. No one should say ANY leader is above criticism.

But mostly, I'm reminded how #TheLeft was so divided over Hillary/Bernie in 2016 that they felt it was okay to abstain from voting or even to "protest vote" for Trump.🤯

THAT, more than anything, was why Trump won in the #2016Election. Putin pushed divisive social media bots, targeting BOTH the #Republicans AND #Democrats, and the Left obliged him by refusing to unite around and vote for the only viable alternative to insanity.

Please, Dear Lord, PLEASE... Let's not repeat that godawful mistake. STOP BLOCKING each other. Start TALKING to one another.

Just because a person disagrees with you on one topic or another, that's no reason to block them. #Progressive ideology is supposed to be about embracing #diversity-- of people and of opinions.

A little while before Covid, I had been doing some #Genealogy research in #StJoseph MO. When I asked the #library there for help with #newspaper lookups, they said they could not afford #Newspapers.com, because they had an extremely small budget.

In all of my time researching Genealogy, I had never run across that before.

#Missouri has enough problems #funding their #libraries. If they don't have these state funds, what more can they cut? 😥😡
