What's Wrong With the American Left: Captured by the Professional Class
Ideas do not float free of the people who hold them, and the abandonment of class has a sociological shape. The center of gravity of American progressive politics has shifted from the working class to the college-educated professional. The activists, staffers, donors, writers, and increasingly the voters who set the tone of the movement are drawn from a stratum secure enough to treat economic survival as a solved problem. For this group, politics can become what it cannot be for the precarious: a matter of values, expression, and culture rather than of rent, wages, and health.

🔒 Η αυτοψία των Ευρωβουλευτών της Left στις φυλακές του Αυλώνα και του Κορυδαλλού, καθώς και οι καταγγελίες που άκουσαν προκάλεσαν αλγεινή εντύπωση: υπερπληθυσμός, προβληματικές υποδομές, ελλείψεις σε προσωπικό που έχουν φέρει το σωφρονιστικό σύστημα στα όρια της κατάρρευσης.
🚨 Στον Αυλώνα, 400 κρατούμενοι σε χώρο για 217. Κοιμούνται στο πάτωμα ή μοιράζονται το ίδιο κρεβάτι δύο και τρία άτομα. Σε μόλις δύο χρόνια, οι ανήλικοι κρατούμενοι (15-18 ετών) τριπλασιάστηκαν από 30 σε 101. Μετανάστες που έπιασαν το τιμόνι βάρκας για να σώσουν ζωές καταδικάζονται ως διακινητές με εξοντωτικές ποινές.
⚖️ Η διόγκωση του προβλήματος είναι αποτέλεσμα του κυβερνητικού ψευδοαφηγήματος “νόμος και τάξη”. Ποινικός λαϊκισμός, αυταρχισμός, "έξαλλη" ατεκμηρίωτη υπερποινικοποίηση.

Η Left στις ελληνικές φυλακές: «αυτό που είδαμε δεν αρμόζει σε κράτος δικαίου»
Οι συνθήκες που αντιμετώπισαν οι ευρωβουλευτές προκάλεσαν αλγεινή εντύπωση για κράτος-μέλος της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης. Κοινό συμπέρασμα είναι ότι η διόγκωση του προβλήματος είναι αποτέλεσμα πλήρως ανορθολογικών επιλογών της κυβέρνησης.

Le mercredi 15 avril, cet appel a été relayé par plus de 350 anciens ministres, ambassadeurs et hauts fonctionnaires européens, qui exigent sa suspension immédiate.
