At 435 PM HST, radar indicated nearly stationary thunderstorms with
heavy rainfall redeveloping over the Koolau mountains, from upslope
of Hauula to upslope of Ahuimanu. These thunderstorms were bringing
heavy rainfall to some areas that have already had significant
rainfall today. Rain was falling at a rate of 2 to 3 inches per hour
in the heaviest downpours. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to
begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

The island of Oahu in Honolulu County
* Until 615 PM HST.
* At 330 PM HST, radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain
over portions of the Koolau mountains, central Oahu, and along the
shoreline in leeward Oahu. The heaviest showers were over the
higher terrain between Wahiawa and Hauula, and near Nanakuli and
Makaha. Rain was falling at a rate of up to 2 inches per hour.
Kamehameha Highway at Waiahole Valley Road was closed, and the
highway at Waikane Stream was also closed around 3 pm. Flooding
was reported in a residential area near Kunia earlier as well.
Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

At 239 PM HST, radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms with violent rain showers of 2 to 4 inches per hour,
in a 5 mile wide band extending across the island from just south of
Nanakuli on the leeward side, to Waipau, Waikele and Pearl City,
then over the Koolau to the windward side near Waikane, Ahuimanu,
and Heeia. Several stream gauges are showing rapid rises, and flash
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
