Auch am 12. Mai sollten wir uns nicht nur Gedanken machen, wie die #Arbeitsbedingungen in der beruflichen #Fürsorge besipielsweise durch #Entlastung und #Anerkennung verbessert werden können.

Sondern auch die unterbezahlte oder unentgeltliche #CareArbeit in der häuslichen Versorgung mitdenken, die oft den weiblichen* Kolleg*innen zugemutet wird.

Dabei verlagern #GlobalCareChains den #Pflegenotstand bloß in Länder mit noch schlechteren Bedingungen durch prekäre #Niedriglöhne und patriarchal dominierte familiäre #Zwangsarbeit

Durch die dringend nötige Anpassung an die katastrophalen Folgen der #Klimazerstörung steigt weltweit der Leidens- und Leistungsdruck auf Milliarden von Frauen*, denen der Erhalt und die Wiederherstellung gesunder Lebensbedingungen von Kranken und Pflegebedürftigen übertragen wird.

Der umfassende Ansatz von #OneHealth versucht dabei die #Gesundheit von Mensch, Tier und Umwelt als eine global verbundene Einheit zu betrachten. Eine gerechtere Verteilung von gesellschaftlich notwendiger Fürsorge-Dienstleistungen muss daher auch ökologische #Nachhaltigkeit in #Reproduktion und #Wohlfahrt jenseits des #Kapitalismus zum Ziel haben.

On this boat after three deaths, the suspicious variant still hasn’t been sequenced. I have questions:

Is this what governments refer to as #pandemic preparedness? This potentially suspicious variant of the #hantavirus has already caused two outbreaks in the past, first in El Bolsón and then in Epuyen, Argentina.
On each occasion, the outbreak was brought under control through quarantine, but the virus has spread from person to person on several occasions.

We know that this virus can have an incubation period of 7 to 50 days before the first symptoms appear.
Even if it may not be the same specific hantavirus (although it originates from Patagonia and represents "only" 12.5% of the cases), the very least they could have done was to test everyone on board – BECAUSE THIS VIRUS IS ALSO A SUPER-SPREADER – and shorten the quarantine period accordingly.
RELEASING UNTESTED TOURISTS IN THE MIDDLE OF A CRUISE IS CRIMINAL, WITHOUT ANY TESTS.

I also suspect that there is no trans-disciplinary team in place to manage this #outbreak. I don’t want to be alarmist by saying that this virus will spread. It is a variant that has not yet been widely observed to spread among humans. But I have a question: where is the #OneHealth response in all this? It’s all amateurish, WHO included.

Also, have the Argentine authorities conducted any environmental investigation of the site, in Patagonia? The authorities of the province are washing their hands, saying that there were no sick people.
What do they know about it? Hospitals' budgets are devastated by the neoliberalism of Javier Milei’s government, there is no money for prevention. AGAIN like when it happened in El Bolsón and Epuyen.

Link corrected, with evidence that the first released pasengers were aware of the outbreak because the first death hapened before Saint Helena...
