Well. That was magical.

Sat outdoors sketching perched on a small stool. A young deer, one of this year's fawns grown out of spots, came along and stood beside me within arm's reach, until I was done, maybe 30 minutes. I felt like I was in a Disney cartoon. They are exquisite little creatures.

I asked her/his opinion of the very rough charcoal sketch, no complaints.

And proud of my grown-up self, while I did chat with the deer, I didn't pat.
